OSHA Audits, are You Ready? Sadly, the answer to the above question is probably “NO” or “I’m not sure” when the fact is most companies don’t even know their rights when OSHA walks in the door much less how to come away from an audit without 10’s or 100’s of thousands of dollars in fines. I’m sure Mattocks five Inc. located in Albion, Pa. had no idea OSHA was coming in the day they received fines in the amount of $137,840.00 and $57,620.00 for 20 plus citations ranging from wood ladder infractions to Powered industrial truck infractions. Or how about Birdsboro Corp located in Birdsboro, Pa. who received fines of $249,418.00 and $75,795.00 for infractions ranging from improper lockout/tag out procedures to improper PPE training to their employee’s. OSHA is out there folks and they are more driven than ever to audit companies and have added additional inspectors to do so, fact is most companies have no idea that OHSA just raised their fines by over 80% effective August 1st 2016 to go along with the added inspectors who are mandated to make more audits than ever before and NO ONE is exempt! Can your company afford the fines?
